Scene 1 -
Scene 1 was quite a simple set up we had a opening shot that was never really going to change as we only got a few takes of it and most of them where the same shot, i did have two angels tow choose from when it came to the self help group though as we had gotten a take where our camera operator had stayed sat down when john stood up and he just panned up following john, and then we had a shot where our camera operator stood up at the same time. This wasn't really a decision though as we had got the shot with our camera man standing up because my director didn't like the pan up shot on set. One problem i did have was because we dont have specialized equipment for handheld shots the shot itself is slightly of balance, they was an easy fix for me as i just put a 3D warp effect on the clip and rotated it until it was straight and then zoomed in so that the shot filled the screen again. However in doing this i had made it that johns eyes would go out of shot a few times while he was talking. To fix this i then had to get my camera operator to go back and get a cut away of one of the actors looking up at john so that i could cut to that when his eyes went out of shot. Though this worked i don't think it really fits so i might have to experiment with other cut aways or maybe even multiple ones so that this one doesn't look so out of place.
screen shot of what the pan up looked like, i dont think it looks that bad though the shot itself does have a horrible zoom in it, but i think if we had got it a few more times it wouldnt have been that bad. (at least it was straight)
This is the shot i used before rotating it, i feel like you wouldn't notice so much f there wasn't lined blinds as these really give away the tilt that the camera is on.
